Posted February 5 2019 Report post. Etex works fine right over nail polish as long as its had a little time to cure. Nothing stops jetty rocks from taking that stuff off though but I still etex some.
Fingernail polish is lacquer and fast drying. It works as well as other paints except maybe powder coat which Ive never tried for jig heads. Our coho jig hero CFM uses nail polish.

I was experimenting with tying up some steelie jigs and borrowed some of my wifes nail color to paint a couple of the jig heads with. Then I got thinking about how bad that stuff smells and wonder if that might not be a good idea if it stinks a little after it dries maybe fish wont.
